Back to Hand Painting

I recently started a personal project to practice my hand painting skills. This has been the most fun I have had creating game art in a while and reminded me how much I love traditionally texturing in Photoshop. Still a work in progress, I'm planning on making a few props and possibly another building so watch this space! Created in Maya and Photoshop, based on an image I found on Pinterest.

Robot Zoo Games!

A month ago I had an art test to be part of the Robot Zoo team. I was asked to model and hand paint a section of a piece of concept art created by Charlène Le Scanff. I used Maya, Photoshop and Substance Designer to create the asset.

I was really happy with how it turned out and so were they which resulted in me joining the team. We are currently working on an upcoming story-based VR game called 'Relic' and are in early development with plans on having a demo ready by the end of the year.  The team is filled with talented game developers and ideas which you can keep up to date with here

Hand Painted Well

I had a quick art test to do for a potential job the other week. It was for a VR Game similar to Mario Kart and the company gave me a task to create any asset I wanted in the style of their game. The game included castles, crates and houses so I thought I would make a well. I made this in about 10 hours and am really happy with it! I'm planning on making some more assets to go along with it in a small scene.

Hand Painting & MIA-ness

A few hours of downtime practising some hand painted textures. WIP but they have come a long way since I first had a go at them a year ago!

I've been MIA the past couple of months as I've been working with PlayerThree on a number of really fun games for some great brands. Hopefully I can share and add them to my portfolio soon as they should be out sooner rather than later! I'm also in the process of working on a really exciting project in advertising which should  be out in a few months so watch this space :)
